In law there is a distinction made between tangible property and intangible property. Your car, house, land etc are all examples of your tangible property. Whereas if you are the author of a book, then it is your the idea and the expression of the same which is your valuable property. This intangible property is also known as intellectual property. Your intellectual property may be divided into various forms. They may be: a) Copyright b) Trademark c) Patent d) Design In this module we shall be introducing you to the basics of Intellectual property and then dealing with the various forms.
