Synopsis
Akhiyon Se Goli Maare has Govinda playing Raj, a fun-loving son of a rich business tycoon. He is madly in love with Kiran (Raveena
Tandon) whose father Bhangari (Kader Khan) is a petty crook running a shop in Chor Bazaar.
Kiran too loves Raj and wants to marry him but she cannot speak against her father who wants her to get married to a big gangster one
day.
Enters into picture the shaky gangster Shakti (Shakti Kapoor) who harbors the dream of tying knot with Kiran. Bhangari is impressed by
Shakti’s machismo and almost accepts him has his son-in-law.
That’s when Kiran and Raj make a clever plan to stop Bhangari. According to the plan Raj impersonates as a serious and deadly gangster
contrary to his fun-loving nature. And it doesn’t take him long to win over Bhangari who, stunned by Raj’s bravado, agrees to accept
him as his son-in-law.
Just when everything appears to be hunky-dory an enraged Shakti kidnaps Kiran. Now he is out to kill both Bhangari and Raj.
Will Raj be able to free Kiran from Shakti’s captivity? What will happen when his cover blows up before Kiran’s father?
Review
Akhiyon Se Goli Maare is directed by Harmesh Malhotra who earlier made flop comedy Dulhe Raja with Govinda. Like his
previous film, Akhiyon Se Goli Maare too ranks low in hilarity despite many comic attempts by Govinda and Kader Khan.
The film does have a different storyline that has tremendous potential for spine tickling comedy. What it lacks is a well-written
script and a free flowing narrative.
The script, for instance, is riddled with crude and slapstick gags that hardly invoke any laughter. And the flow of narrative too is
frequently punctuated with the bump and grind act featuring Chi Chi and ravishing Raveena.
The film mostly drags prior to interval and becomes funny in the second half when Govinda decides to train himself as a gangster to
win Raveena's hand.
Like always Govinda shows his comic timing to the hilt and delivers a funny performance despite the poor dialogue content. Although
his jokes and banter are commonplace Govinda still manages to infuse freshness in them through his spirited comedy. Pitted opposite
him, Raveena shows her flair for comedy in few sequences.
Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor too chip in for some funny moments in the film.
