Aditya was once an army officer who fell in love with Payal (Lara
Dutta), daughter of a senior officer. But due to some arguments with
senior officials, he was asked to leave the army. Adding insult to
injury, girlfriend Payal decides to dump him too. Not one to brood
over the past, Aditya moves on in life. He opens a travel agency. His
family consists of a younger brother, Anuj (Ritesh Deshmukh) who is
coming to terms with his disturbing past. But soon a simple
misunderstanding sees Anuj storming out of the house in anger.
Some time passes and Aditya slowly becomes concerned when his brother
doesn't return. Bad news follows when the police find Anuj dead and
believe he was a drug dealer. Aditya decides he must clear his
brother's name. However he faces many difficulties whilst trying to
uncover the truth. Luckily Payal returns in his life and provides
support, especially in the legal department. Together they vow to find
justice.
In the course of his investigation, Aditya doesn't find the police FIR
very convincing. His search for the truth uncovers the series of
terrible events that lead to his brother's death.
Aditya decides to take it upon himself to clear up his dead brother's
image when the police refuse to do so. He takes recourse to the
justice system and goes to court, taking the help of Payal, who is now
a lawyer and old emotions are now slowly rekindled.
However, his adversaries will stop at nothing to ensure that the truth
remains hidden and Aditya has no option but to take up the gun to
prove his brother's innocence.
NThe music for Bardaasht is fair enough. It is not a power packed
soundtrack like Humraaz, but it is decent enough to come close to Tere
Naam, one of Himesh’s highlights. While that is still not to say he is
one of the more superlative composers, decent music is always nice to
listen to. Bardaasht highlights itself in doing what all the small
T-Series soundtracks can’t. It gives us jhankaar but doesn’t beat us
over the head with it. And if you’re looking for one song that you’re
bound to be singing long after the soundtrack is over, look no further
than the opener, "Silsile Mulaqaton Ke".
This film sees the return of E Nivas who once directed hard hitting
films like Shool, Dum and the comedy flick Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi
Karega. Strangely enough, Bobby Deol continues to be paired with the
Andaaz beauty queens - we saw him with Priyanka Chopra in Kismat. In
Bardaasht, he is seen with Lara Dutta. The film also co- stars Rahul
Dev and Tara Sharma.
Bardaasht is slated for an 23rd April release
