Review
After a lackluster Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa Tusshar Kapor and Esha Deol are pairing once more in Balaji Film’s thriller Kucch To
Hai which is directed jointly by Anil V. Kumar and Anurag Bose.
A mystery thriller that is believed to be the Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, Kucch To Hai
is the story of a group of young friends given to playing pranks upon each other.
Things take a sudden twist when one such practical joke leads to the death of a man. The six friends get rid of the body and consent
to never discuss this chapter of their lives ever again. But none is able to drive the guilt out of his mind.
Three years roll by. Everything seems hunky dory until the six begin to get chased by the man they thought had died that unfateful
night.
The first half of the movie retains the viewer’s interest thanks to few light-hearted comic moments set around the college campus and
late night bashes. Even the scene when a prank leads to a man’s death has been well executed.
The love triangle in the story between Tusshar, Esha and one more guy also leads to an added interest in the murder mystery.
The story gets dull in the latter half as the narrative shifts focus to the love story. Moreover, the murders have been shot in a
stylistic way but lacks credibility. And, the real dampner comes in the end when the identity of the killer comes to fore.
While acting performances by both Tusshar and Esha are plain mediocre, newcomer Natasha does make an impression in spite of a marginal
role. Comedians Vrajesh Hirjee and Johny Lever further lend some hilarity to the otherwise eerie story.
