Review
Both serious film lovers and frontbenchers liked Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s earlier films Pushpak and Apoorva Sahodarangal.
But his latest film Little John, however, disappoints all types of film lovers.
Little Johntells the story of an English man who astonishingly recovers the nose-ring of a goddess from a black magician.
Singeetham’s narrative style in Little John doesn’t really interest the audience. His mixing of fantasy with dance and songs
kills the flow of the film.
Even the long and continuous special effects in the movie are no great shake.
Little Johnis a suspense-thriller and a fantasy film, claims its maker. Little Johncould have been wholly a suspense
thriller or entirely a fantasy. Attempting to make Little Johna suspense-thriller cum fantasy, Singeetham has ended up making a
movie that is neither suspense-thriller nor a fantasy film.
Pravin’s music is of course one of the good points of the film. It’s different from the usual Tamil film music.
Whether or no Little Johnboosts Jyothika’s career, she can feel happy because she looks more glamorous than ever before in this
film. Her charm completely enamours the audience.
Thiru’s camera is another good point of the film. English actor Benteley offers a welcome break from the much seen heroes. Others
artistes including Prakash Rai and Anupam Kher put up fitting performances too. But none leaves a lasting impression on mind. Who to
blame, director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao?
