Synopsis
“Na Tum Jaano Na Hum” is a sensitive love story involving three characters that are central to the film’s story. These characters are
Rahul (Hrithik), Esha (Esha Deol) and Akshay (Saif Ali Khan).
Rahul is a dreamer and a loner who likes to keep his feelings to himself. He is sensitive to the other person’s emotions and is always
caring enough not to hurt them. That is why he easily wins affection of others, and in return loves everyone. Little does he know that
sometimes a man can hurt others unknowingly!
Pitched opposite Rahul is a suave, a-little-mature and a-little-childish Esha. Esha is a self-assured girl who knows what she wants in
her life and also knows how to get it. To her what matters between two people is commitment towards relationship. What she doesn’t
understand is that sometimes one has to give unconditionally to get what one deserves.
Akshay is a carefree lad with oodles of ‘who cares’ attitude towards life. He is a proverbial cool-dude who loves philandering at
times and doesn’t have a firm belief in the dictum of love. He believes it is one thing to love a girl and quite another thing to
marry her, make her a lifelong partner.
What happens when Rahul, Esha and Akshay fall in love? “Na Tum Jaano Na Hum” has debutante filmmaker Arjun Sablok weaving a touching
love story around these three different and complex characters.
The film is a Pantaloon production and also stars Mausami Chatterji, Rati Agnihotri and Alok Nath in side roles. Chirpy Preeti
Jhangiani too makes a special appearance in blink-and-you-will-miss-her role.
Review
Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is another film with a triangular love story.
Debutante director Arjun Sablok has, however, failed to make the movie any different from the usual masala stuff we get from Bollywood.
The director deserves praise for the picturization of the song Aha aha.
As far as acting is concerned, Esha has done well this time. She makes the transition from bubbly schoolgirl to young woman waiting
for her love easily. Dancing seems to come naturally to her.
Hrithik retains the same substance everyone talked about after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. He moves to the music instinctively.
Saif Ali Khan is just about average.
Rajesh Roshan’s music is just ‘Kam Chalaoo’. He can certainly score better music than this.
Overall Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is a typical Bollywood film.
