Review
Tamil scriptwriters are burning midnight oil to add different dimensions to the four-letter word – love. Their imagination often goes
weird to spin out scripts that assure good show in the box- office. Rhythm, is the latest flick in this genre of trite films.
Karthikeyan, photo editor in a Chitra, a bank employee, during their many encounters fall in love. Living on the memories of their
past romance they confessed to each other their past romance-filled past life. Their similar past bring them closer.
Karthikeyan was leading a happy married life with Aruna while Chitra was more than happy with Sreekanth. Their happiness was
short-lived as both Aruna and Sreekanth get killed in a train accident. For a twist, Chitra has an adopted son, with whom Karthikeyan
is very amiable.
Karthikeyan and Chitra, despite their true love for each other, are hooked to their beautiful past and are trying to give new meaning
to their affection.
Arjun and Ramesh Arvind play the roles of Karthikeyan and Sreekanth while Meena and Jyothika enact Chitra’s and Aruna’s roles. As it
is normal in such convoluted love stories, it is the cameo performance of Master Aditya as the adopted son of Chitra who steals the
show.
A R Rahman’s music is as usual excellent. It is already on the top of chart-busters.
