In its 57th year, Rajshri presents its 50th film, "Uff Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai", a story of unconditional love and unbound friendship.

Introducing two fresh-faced youngsters, Sammir and Pooja Kanwal, the film in the mould of Sooraj Barjatya's debut film, "Maine Pyar Kiya", Rajshri Productions hopes to bring a whiff of virginal romance into the theatres.

The movie revolves around Pari (Pooja Kanwar) who goes to Shimla to study in the college where her late mother studied once upon a time. Like any other college-goer she too looks forward to an exciting college life along with her new found friends. Born with a silver spoon Pari is the apple of her father Kumar Choudhary's (Sachin Khedekar) eye, which is a wealthy businessman. She is a fun loving, down to earth girl who likes making friends. She meets charming and immensely Yash (Sammeer) there and falls for him instantly. Yash has his reservations but after some songs and pranks both start liking each other. Life isn't simple and Yash is charged for a Crime. Pari helps Yash, as she thinks Yash is innocent. Her father and brother try to stop her. But she stands by her friend and love. And love wins against all odds.

After the initial 20-25 minutes, the film starts going the predictable way, leaving you with a feeling of deja vu. You expect things to improve in the second half, but the film follows the same trodden path yet again.

Director Manoj Bhatia seems inspired by yesteryear hits and it is evident in his choice of the subject. Though he has handled a few tender sequences well, the outcome is not as convincing as it should've been.

Anu Malik gave a peppy and young score for the Rajshri's last film "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon". And now, the upcoming Sandesh Shandilya has done a mildly engaging young score that doesn't really cross the line between serviceable and stunning. Rather, the 10 tracks hover with weary energy in a place removed from truly path-breaking romantic musicals. A clarity of expression runs through the title track as Sunidhi Chauhan sings it. And since the redoubtable Richard Clayderman joins her on the piano, Sunidhi has much reason to swing in supreme bliss.

UUF KYA JAADOO MOHABBAT HAI…! introduces two newcomers - Sammir and Pooja - in principal roles, besides other newcomers. Sammir has a strong personality and delivers an equally delightful performance. The lad is handsome, dances exceptionally well and handles the dramatic portions with gusto. In fact, he has all the trappings of a star if he goes about his career carefully. Pooja Kanwal falls into the Bhagyashree mould and acts ably.

On the whole, UUF KYA JAADOO MOHABBAT HAI...! has some appeal for the youth!
