Starring

Nana Patekar .... Dr. Arjun Singh
Puru Raj Kumar .... Aaryan
Anupama Verma .... Jyoti

Synopsis
Dr Arjun Singh (Nana Patekar), is a psychiatrist by profession and his brother Vijay Singh (Nakul) is a police officer. One night a crazy serial killer who has already killed six people escapes from prison and kills three warden boys. This makes the whole city live in fear, where everyone begins asking the question 'Who's next?'. As expected, another murder takes place next morning.

The victim is Dr Arjun's best friend's girl friend. The friend, Aaryan (Puru Rajkumar) is very wealthy and lives his life as he desires. His life style and his attitude convince Vijay Singh that Aaryan is the killer who is in fact taking advantage of the serial killer's escape to cover up his crime. Now after a few days Aaryan's second girlfriend is killed.

There are indications now that Dr Arjun's family including his wife Jyoti (Anupama Varma) is now under threat from the serial killer. While Dr Arjun Singh and the police department are hot on the trial of the serial killer, Vijay Singh is doing his own bit to prove his hunch right.

Who is this mystery killer? You have to watch the movie to know that.
Review

Vadh is a gritty psycho thriller that keeps viewers involved, particularly in the second half, and ends with an edge-of-the-seat climax. The identity of the killer is kept secret all throughout although the suspicion keeps shifting from one character to the other.

With one mysterious murder after another the director keeps building the momentum of the story and thereby gets the viewer more and more involved personally to find the killer. But in the end he fails to give a convincing motive for the crime.

Apart from the suspense angle what makes Vadh ‘a movie worth seeing’ is the performance by its leading cast and its background music. Right music in backdrop during different nail-biting suspense situations adds an extra punch and hits the adrenaline high.

In the leading role Nana Patekar does fit into the role of a suave psychiatrist who has his own personal reasons to track the killer down. Pitched opposite him Anupama Verma maintains confidence in her act and delivers the right emotion with alacrity. Puru Rajkumar too does an excellent job playing a dubious character.

In the film’s music the Jagjit Singh song, 'Bahut Khoobsurat Hain Aankhen Tumhari', and the Shweta Menon number, 'Kamsin Kali Hoon Tu Mujhko Khila De', are two highlights.
