Potato Tikkis
Delightful stuffed mashed potato cakes
Ingredients
200 GMS Potatoes
4 slices of bread
2 tsp. finely chopped green
chilies
3 tbsp. coriander leaves,
chopped
Salt according to taste
For stuffing:
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp. Oil for cooking the
stuffing
1tsp. chopped ginger
2 tsp. chopped green chilies
1/2 tsp. red chili powder
1 tsp. coriander powder
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. garam masala
1/2 tsp. amchoor (mango
powder)
1 1/4 cups of boiled peas
Oil for frying
Advice
Do not overfry the Tikkis.
Serve with
Serve hot with tomato ketchup
or any of the chutneys.
Method
1.Boil, peel and mash
the potatoes.
2.Soak the bread in water, squeeze the water and crumble finely
over the potatoes.
3.Add salt, green chilies and chopped coriander.
4.Mix well and make a smooth dough. Set aside.
5.For the stuffing Cook the onions in the oil till light brown. Mix
in the ginger, green chilies, powders and salt .Cook for 1/2 a minute and
add the boiled green peas. Mix well and remove.
6.Now shape the potato dough into rounds, put the stuffing into the
center of each round and cover with more dough.
7.Smoothen into rounds and shallow fry till brown and crisp.
