A Friend-in Need

A friend in need is a friend indeed. . .
In deeds that feeds the lonely heart
Seeking solace in a world that has turned cold. . .
Too bold to live in this place . . this society of rules and lies
He denies the truth but still needs proof

Seeking sooth. . . to soothe the savage heart. . the wild beast
Nature calling, but instead a cement cell for an innocent man. . .
The martyr's . . people . . . hanged

But I'll be danged if I'll give in! Never give up, I'll tell you . .
No kid ever says "I want to be a junky when I grow up"
But we want to be heroes. . not zeroes. . .
And why do we persecute our heroes along with the guilty. . .
The innocent were not meant to suffer.
Against pain the hero will buffer . . .
Save our people or let them go. . .
I Know . . many innocents . . locked in their rooms
Like bad boys sent by momma. . .
Alone forever.
That's not right
