After Women's Day

after women's day,poem after women's day,after women's day poem,poetry after women's day,after women's day poetry

  Yesterday I was the prodigal
Held in high acclaim
much talked about and praised
Achievements lauded
and tumbles sympathized with
Yesterday I saw a light at the end of tunnel
Saw hope in despair
and thought my plight could be righted

But today I am again
Back to where I was
Maybe even worse off
Cause i was shown dreams
And made to chase mirages
By clan bent on self-improvisations
My achievements were cheap stunts for them
My tears showed dollar signs for them

I feel like a note used and thrown away
Having a one night stand with dreams
Hope shown and cruelly taken away
The light at the end of tunnel
Merely a play of the eyes
I can't relish this one day of fame
For I know at the end everything
Is going to remain the same
I am afraid of being the ruler for a day
For this could distract me from my kingdom

I yearn not for a day dedicated to me
But a few hearts dedicated to my cause
Every day of their life
